So, it’s not a good day here, with the family situation. I decided to distract myself my getting some touch-up painting done outside, might be the last day we break 50 degrees for a while. Then, cleaning up, I can’t find the brush comb – the tool you use to clean the brushes. I look in the attic where it was “supposed to” be, no luck; in the tool closet, nada; in the storage area under the steps, nope; under the sink, el zilcho. I decide to check the attic one more time, because that’s where it’s “supposed” to be, but it refuses to appear. Then, climbing down the attic steps, I see the handle poking out from under miscellany on the hallway shelf – I probably put it there with intent to return it to the attic.

Now, I only saw it there because I went on a fruitless quest to the attic for it. Feels like there’s a lesson there: a failure that leads to success.
